2023 Rally and Open Day – Sunday 22nd October 2023

Lost and Found: Found a pair of glasses with grey translucent frames left at the Canny Components stall. GDARS club has them, contact us by email if they’re yours.

NOTE (21/10/2023): Rally still on! Not badly affected by Storm Babet, just a little soggy and windswept. All weather and flood warnings finished on Saturday.

  1. What time does this rally/open day start at as I and a few of my mates are intending to come down from Glasgow.

    • Hi Edward, doors open at 11am for general admission, 1045 for disabled access and early Bring & Buy booking-in.

  2. One more thing I should have asked, Is there any local parking for myself (A blue badge holder) or even a paid car park if there’s nothing else local.

    • The nearest parking is on the street if there are spaces. There are some disabled bays on the nearby Bank Street or the nearby Tesco carpark free for up to 3 hours.

Hi, long list of names but no indication of what they trade in. Some are self explanatory such as Mirfield Electronics. for example what does Bob McClements GM4CID trade. I have done some searches but can find no info. It would be helpful if a short sentence could be given after each trader name with what they sell. Regards. Graeme

    • Hi Graeme. Traders book tables without giving us information on what they are selling but we trust it will be amateur radio or electronics related. Bob GM4CID is one of our club members and will be selling second-hand radio equipment or accessories on behalf of himself, club members or silent keys. Some traders sell several specific types of items but others are just clubs or indivduals selling whatever assortment they bring on the day from “shack junk” to modern transceivers.

Hi wondering if there is any motorhome parking near by?
Is Gibson Park in Melrose nearest?
    Regards
    John GM4ZTO

    • Hi John. Yes Gibson Park in Melrose is the nearest with facilities. There are also sites at Carfraemill Oxton, Hawick and Jedburgh.

  5. Hi,
Hope to be down on Sunday.
I have some (quite a bit) of SK gear to sell, ok to bring along?

  6. Does anyone know the name of the vendor whose large stall was the first on the left as you enter the main door of the venue. As I paid for goods but forgot to pick them up.

    • Hi Allan, that would be Mirfield Electronics to the left of the front entrance to the hall. His contact details will be online or the back of the RadCom.
